OE Exhaust

Just ordered an OE middle/center Resonator/Muffler. I'll see it tomorrow at the muffler shop. Was wondering what exactly the one from the dealer is and who makes it. I guess OE quality and actual original equipment are still two different things. Anyone know what OE muffler is for this car?

I wont get it if its not right. It's a bolt-up at the Cat's flanges and the diagram looks right.

I'm also having the transition pipe to the rear/back Muffler replaced. Then it's off to my smog check guy to see how the readings are.

New oil, filter, plugs, 02 Sensor, etc. and now the muffler replacement. It ought to pass.

Then I gotta find an AMG type rear muffler and tips!

Regards,
Jason

All the bases

It's a clean car overall. Leaks oil from the pan seal I think. Not too sure if the valve guide and seal and head gasket job was done or not. Looks like the gasket was done but who knows how it was done. Will steam clean the bay soon. Oil is getting a little fuel in it. Guess it's blow-by or whatever. The Cat should be good. It looks fine.
The 2nd owner of the car was an idiot and he took crap care of it. The first owner kept good records of it. And now it's my turn. I cant believe the original muffler is still on the car. I'm from the NYC area and nobody's mufflers last that long back East. Here in Los Angeles cars are clean.

Regards,
Jason
