Ryan will probably be the first one on this board to utilize air suspension.

Question: How does Air Ride suspension benefit someone for practical daily purposes? Or is it just for fun and show ?

Exclamation My regrett

Air ride does not benifit ANYTHING lol Ride is terrible unless
you have dampers
leave you air bags in the middle setting not to much air but not alot !

After my experience I would not reccomed it to a daily driver ONLY ON SHOW CARS! If your wondering this was my project finnally finished but ill only drive it 2 times a year cause how bad the ride!

AND NOW SHE LAYS TO REST IN MY DADS GARAGE...........

I will admit though that it was a fun project and when you hit the switches at a light the expression;s on the people are all worth it!!!

I have done some research with the air ride systems and I had heard that the ride is fine, I imagine it depends on the setup that you use. The reason the pontiac rode like crap was probably....well... because it was a pontiac sorry. your taste has obviously improved from what I see in your signature I give you props if you turned a wrench and just didn't write the checks.

I would put air ride in my TE so I could drop it when I park and raise it up if I decide to go on rougher mountain roads when I go hiking around here. My dad's audi allroad has adjustable air suspension and it rides like a dream, and it has come in handy many times in the mountains. I'd like to get something similar in my TE.

Still in dream/planning phase until I finish school

Well, my first exposure to air suspension was when I was a younger lad, 15, and working in an indie MB shop in HS. I worked on a few w108's(why I own one) and fell inlove with the 300SEL's that had factory air suspension and elaborate(for most cars of the time) valve systems to control the air in the airbags. Those cars rode like they were on rails compared to spring suspension w108s. Cost and maintenence were prohibitive in my purchasing qualifications at that time. I love what you can do with an air suspension car though, and hence I WILL eventually do it to my TE. Just need to start figuring what will be the best approach. IE air ride technologies, or the link that jdmfriend sent in the last post
