Yeah, you obviously would want them to come down a few grand on the price if it has not been addressed yet, either way i think an E320 coupe is a good purchase because it is most likely going to become a collectors classic within the next decade much like the 500E because of their quality and short numbers

thx everyone for their input.

after reviewing all service records from the two MB dealers that have serviced the car since it was sold in april 1996, and also having it up on a rack with my local mechanic, i TOOK the plunge for about $18k. the 2nd owner had it for 2 years and drove 4k miles as he spent $7k with the SF MB dealer on things ranging from gaskets to shocks, bushings, etc.. he said he expected to keep it forever.

so that makes me the 3rd owner...and i too hope to keep it forever.

will post some pictures soon...black opal/tan interior (but it's really closer to dark/midnight blue).

I bought my hardtop 95 e320 coupe for $17k because it hadn't had the harness or gasket replaced yet and had a dent in the front fender but i just took over payments on the car then got it refinanced, the guy i got it from bought it from a dealer about 2 years earlier for 22 grand but he had to get rid of it because it wasn't a very practical family car so18K is definitely a good deal if it is on nice condition and with such low miles

Do you plan any mods for yours?

i think i'm getting too old for mods (turning age 42 this june).

probably the most i'm thinking about are:

tinting windows
changing the headlight bulbs
and maybe remote door locks.

i was thinking about wheels as visually 17 or 18" AMGs would look nice, but i really want to keep this car as the comfortable cruiser for sunday afternoon drives with the entir family.

if i need speed/handling, i can drive the E55. that's why i'm glad to split the two personalities.
