Electric seats
Hi all....got the head gasket fixed and she purrs like a kitten!! (previous post)
Now for the next bit...I have been offered a 1990 300te (lightly smashed front) for £150 and it has a nice grey interior with electric seats! I want to put these in my 230te which has a good gondition interior with manual seats but its beige (not my favourite colour!) and was wondering if anyone has done this before?? what sort of a job is it?? I think it will be worth it but need as much advice as possible from those in the know...Many thanx in advance!

the wiring should already be in place to such a swap. it should be hidden under the carpet or something. youd only need to change the colour of the materials on the seat.
you cannot just mount the motors to your existing seats IIRC. although if you comlpetely strip them down (both) you'd probably be able to swap over the seat squabs and backrests

I want to mount the seats (and rest of interior) from the donor car to mine..giving my car a grey interior instead of beige..will the wiring for the door cards (seat switches are on the door cards) already be in the door itself as well?
My car does not have electric seats.sounds as if its just a case of taking out my manual seats and plugging in my new electric ones if the wiring is already there?
