Taking the high road???
I should have been civil...I should have taken the high road. I just couldn't.
It just so happened I had the car in second gear from a first gear start because I was planning to enter the flow of traffic with a bit of intent (if you get my drift). So, I pinned it just as he was coming around the outside. It must have caught him by surpise, because he shot a look my way as my car surged forward. He quickly looked forward and then burried the pedal trying to get around me. Hehehe....nope.
I won't say how fast I was going by the time I hit the freeway, but I can tell you he was at least 10 car lengths back and stayed in the right hand lane after that! Once on the freeway I was able to see that the car was a pretty new V-6 Accord with the full ricer treatment. Unfortunately for him, he was neither fast nor furious enough this day.
Anyway, I thought I would report that despite being a little bit irresponsible, I represented the W124 today. Good times!

If we are going to dive into a power-to-weight ratio discussion of the two cars, I would expect that the Benz has more power, and more weight. The only performance enhancement my car has is a Powerchip, and I have no idea if makes any real power beyond stock in a naturally aspirated car with no intake or exhaust mods. The original owner that I bought the car from claims the chip made a BIG difference from the seat of the pants.
Regardless, the roll-on power of the Benz is impressive, and in this instance, was more than the Honda could deal with.

Strange, the Benz feels like it is going a lot faster than it really is. I'll think I'm cruising pretty good and I look down and I'm doing 5 under the limit. I just love the way the car feels.
