Yeah time has come to change guard here, my business is requiring that i purchase a truck and i also can use it to tow my Ducati to the track (which the Benz would look great doing, but not gonna put a tow hitch on her..lol). So i am officially putting her up for sale on CL this weekend. Some of you may have remembered a thread a while back where i posted these pics and was considering selling then...i regretfully must now. New owner will be very happy with this unabused Merc.

She's a Starmarked 94' silver w/103K babied miles (only put on 4k in last year)

Some of the details:

Mint interior (Grey leather is near new and gets leather treatment monthly, steering wheel shows little if any wear, carpets perfect, headliner and everything is near new. Still has new car smell) Wood grain near shift lever has a few cracks as usual in these cars. This care was driven by older gentleman for majority of its life, sold to previous owner who i know is a Mercedes fanatic, then to me because he bought a 96'. All stamps and books.

Has had complete wiring harness fix/repair and EGR tube fully cleaned. Sunroof works flawless and has been lubed as well as every other power item except for drivers head rest adjuster. Paint is in very good condition, polished and very very shiny. All rubber is always conditioned and she gets fuel system cleaner every 3000 miles. Lucas transmission treatment as well. Transmission is VERY strong, has been taken care of. AC and heater work like new, but i only use them rarely to just keep the system lubricated.

Garaged day/night never left out in the sun. Drives beautifully like the w124 chassis should, tight and solid, and has no major problems. It is a daily driver and very dependable, i wouldn't hesitate to drive it cross country. But like a 13 year old car has a very small oil leak which is not head gasket related, was told it was from front of timing cover. NEver been an issue except for the infrequent drop of oil.

FYI: The car is due for oil and coolant change, plugs and tune. Additionally the belt tensioner should be changed relatively soon. Since its mainly a weekend driver i was going to wait until i had time (my schedule is absolutely crazy) to take her in. But i may adjust price slightly for these items and let the new owner do these.

Clear title and Smog will be provided.

82k miles when i bought it, but too embarassed to say how much i paid for it....

 

I bought my car with 180,000 miles.

it needed a new alternator, I bought it for $750 dollars, cash.

 

Yeah, I only paid 1900 for mine (at 240k miles). That's probably why my car is gunning for most problematic award on this forum.

The price that the original poster had for his car is fair. I've seen some cars down here in San Diego like his sell for 15k! Some that aren't even as nice go for 10K!

Cool. I bought my 1992 400E for $5,000 - 98k miles. Since then I have put another $5 - $6k in it for tranny, tires, A/C, wiring harness, bla...bla...bla...i still love this car (oh yeah, and I am in it so deep I cant sell the F***** thing) - Did i mention I love it?

 

well, in atlanta, this car would go in the 8K-9K range because the mileage is good... but Atlanta has more Mercedes/BMWs than the average area so that keeps pricing relatively competitive. in fact, its quite common to see them, even the w124. A person that lives down the street from me has a project w124, and i know one guy that collects w124s.

 

for example, my girlfriends sister just bought a 92 400E with 98K for $6000.
