So my ABS stopped working today when i started my car.. the light is on and the abs does not work at all. Is there any way to tell if its the control unit or the hydraulic mechanism easily? Hopefully not so expensive.. thanks in advance.

 

Does it come on as soon as you start the car, or does it wait until you start moving?

 

It was on right away, but i think it was just some clogged valves because it seems to have cleared out and is working again.. very weird.

 

You should flush your brake fluid, and also take the ABS sensors out and clean them. It is super easy, they get covered with magnatized shreds of metal from the brakes. That should do it.
