DIESEL Remote start and Keyless?
Hi all,
I have a 87 300TDT and I will have it for a few hundred more miles.. so I really like to let the car warm up before driving it around. That also said, I hate turning the car off for a few minutes when I run in at the gas station or so, so I would like the ablitlity to remove the key, lock the car but still have the car running... but i digress.
Point is, Im looking for remote start, keyless entry that is compatable with diesel and I am not interested in an Alarm. Any suggestions?
thank you!

My understanding of remote start is that the car starts, but will shut off if the brake pedal is pressed without putting the key in and turning it to the start position, so you probably won't have to worry about locking it while it's running off of the remote start. I don't know why you wouldn't be able to do that with a diesel engine, but who knows?

well, I mean you can disable that function and not all of them have it.. I want to lock it not as much for the reason of the car getting stolen but the contents - there are some f-ed up people out there.
thanks for your thought.. any other ideas?

most remote starts have glow plug timers that will wait to start for a few seconds. THe engine will shut down if the brake is pressed or the engine is revved or door is opened. All these are security measures.
