The windshield wiper on my mother-in-law's 1993 300TD has failed, the stealership in FL is asking $1,200 to fix. That's robbery, I think; I can see the motor priced at $185 on the web, and the arm & insert have to be less than that.
Any ideas please on a realistic price for this - and some good independents located N of the Palm Beach area?
Many thanks!

Hello. I have one w123 300E and I had the same trouble. I made a new semi circle gear in nylon and solved the problem. I expended just US$ 200.

I removed and replaced mine when I took out the heater blower to oil the motor. That was a major PITA but the wiper motor wasn't too bad. It's really pretty simple to do it yourself. Check out this link. The '95 is a bit different, with a thick rubber piece that is attached to the wiper motor assembly that makes things a little more difficult, but still it's very doable. I'm not sure if the '93 is like the DIY pics or like the '95.
