Re-coding 1995 E320 Audio 10 CD

I have an Alpine MF2910 Audio 10 CD radio in my 1995 Mercedes. It had been disconnected when I had some work done to my battery. I have the code and I can enter the code, press the sc button, but nothing happens. The last number entered contines to blink. I've left it on for about 1-2 hours, as someone suggested, but it times out and goes blank. Can anyone help me?

I would try unplugging it and then redoing it after some time. Sounds like an incorrect code.
