THis was posted a while back.....I would like to find out who posted it and get some instructions on how it was done. i want to do the same. i currently have two 10" Elemental Design subs in my trunk - sounds okay - but the bass really does not come through to the cabin like it should.
Anyone out there???

Not sure if I like that exposed look. Plus, think of the sun damage to that surface. You'd need some serious SPF protection.

I am doing a similar modification, except I am cutting the hole as a port hole for my 2 12's Since I cant fit 2 12 inch subs in the cabin. I figure I will make it look like a "dummy" speaker and it will allow more sound to the front.

Safety being the biggest issue, only a year old vehicle wont even fully deploy the Air Bags and people are getting hurt. Today being one of those days !!
Get the the New Tundra or Tacoma , will save you on all the hassles that you will have to go through.

No to spill water on your hopes but I work for General Motors and BELIEVE ME, you do not want to get yourself in any of those machines. I stopped counting the no. of people that call in and complain about the cars and that they are returning their vehicle before their lease is up. They are willing to take a hit at their credit but not at all interested in keeping their GM products.

Here is my experience with late model trucks.....
My 2006 Silverado is a damn good looking truck - but not at all the best driving one. Part of it I can contribute to my lift and tires. I drove a new 2007 Silverado yesterday (just looking) was not as impressed with it as I was with the 2007 Suburban - especially at a discounted price of still $37,500.00.
I looked at the Toyota before I bought the 2006 Silverado - I liked the look of the truck (which I was told is considered a 7/8 truck as it was not, at least in 2006, a "full" sized truck) the problem was the interior looked like the inside of a Toyota Corolla (not that there's anything wrong with that) but for $30k - I could not see driving it.
The new Toyota looks bigger and the re-design looks good. They did wonders on the interior as well - no longer a Corolla look/feel. Trust me - I have had my fill of Toyota propaganda here in San Antonio where they just opened the newest Tundra plant.
Before the Silverado, I drove a 2005 Silverado Z-71 and a 2004 F-150 - the Ford, nice truck - overpriced - both my Silverados were/are quieter than the Ford, even with the "quiet steel" Ford alleges they have.
I also test drove 3 Ford F-150 SuperCrew with 20 inch factory wheels - every one drove terribly - a horrible wobble in the wheel. I drove three different trucks at three different dealerships and had the same exact terrible wobble in the wheel. It must be some problem with Ford's wheel supplier. Other than that - damn nice truck on the inside.
We had a 2002 Suburban - actually had a lemon Law Claim - Settled with GM - nice car but everything broke over the 4 year period we had it. We bought 3 at the same time from the same dealership and only this one had problems - the other two were perfect.
One of the best Trucks have had was a 2002 F-150 - powerful, smooth truck.
All in all - from a driving/functional standpoint - they are all good vehicles and do what they are supposed to. Safety? Your comments concern me - I will look into that given the clan of children I haul around every day. Thanks for the info XUDECK.
Okay - I'll shut up now.

hey there. im planning on doing an IB set up in my w124 also. Except I'm going to do four Ed 7kv.2s. one in each stock location and 2 where the first aid used to be. I'm really planning on digging into to it tomorow. I know theres another guy on here who is also working on a project like this. his sn is bigpete123. shouldnt be hard to find him on here. he's got a pretty good thread going on it.

there are 3 holes under the package shelf. They are probably a good 4 by 2 each. I would most def just cut the package shelf and put speaker grill over it. Plenty of bass comes through without messing up the entire car.
