A boot is the thing they clamp on your wheel when you don't pay your parking tickets. You can't drive the car with it on, and you have to pay all your fines to get it off. Ever see the Simpson's episode where they go to New York, and Homer gets one put on his car? It's hilarious.

As far as tips or tricks....it would be tough to avoid one short of just following the law. What'd you do to instigate this question? Got a bunch of unpaid tickets? Maybe make a fake parking permit or something, but you could get into big trouble and more fines for stuff like that. Those boots fit all kinds of applications, so I doubt that there is a simple modification you could do to prevent one from being fitted. (maybe get wheels that don't have any openings through them?)

Oh yea, haha, he kept driving the car with the boot on, LOL. I'd have a BF if I got one of those put on! :O (THAT S*** BETTER NOT SCRATCH MY RIMS UP OR ELSE IM'A RIP YOU A NEW ***HOLE! :@) <-- j.k .

Anyways, I've seen old videos of our cars back in the day, all stock, promotional videos and I noticed the rims are like, well solid. Would those type of rims prevent a boot?

Here's a pic:

The holes seem to be small?

Edit: Btw, AHEE HEE, happy Germans in Germany in a new W124 HEE HEE HEE. *slaps knee*

not really, and in Houston, the boots have a plate that covers the center area that prevents you fron removing the wheel and putting on the spare....but I look fwd to seeing if anyone can help you with this ???

the boots im talking about have a U-shaped ring with a rather strong aluminum plate blocking the wheel so you can't change the wheel, and the ones I have scratch easy for some reason... ive heard that there is a "cone"like thing that wraps around the axle blocking the boot ring from connecting........anybody else seen these?

to answer Legoinsaniac's question, when i leave during lunch at my school, i go through my class after lunch and i am forced to park in staff parking, if a students car is parked in a staff parking it can be booted or even towed, im just trying to find a way to make sure i can drive home

my friends keep saying that im in the clear because i don't park there all the time, and it is a higher class mercedes......it also helps that its previous owner was a lawyer so I think they are alittle afraid to
