Question What's the deal with my transmisson?

I'm trying to figure out if this is a normal quirk or if there is something worn in my transmission. It shifts into 2nd gear about 10 feet from a dead stop and will NOT shift back to first no matter what, until I come to a stop. If I leave it in "2" it will stay in 1st gear until the engine redlines (fun for dragging but not very practical). If I drive gently, everything seems fine but the 3rd to 4th shift is instant, almost harsh, at about 28 mph. If I accelarate rapidly up to 65mph, 2nd to 3rd is very "slushy"; the revs don't flare but it seems to slide into 3rd veeeerrrrrrry slowly. I can't drive fast enough to see what it would do going into 4th as there is no Autobahn nearby.

Fluid was changed by the dealer 7000 miles ago (149,000 miles) for $230 including several "rings", gasket, and filter, with the comment "Performed transmission service, fluid was very dirty".

What do you think? Is she going to live? I don't want to rebuild this tranny; the body doesn't deserve it and there's too much else that could go wrong.

the quick shift 1-2 while in drive or 3rd, is normal with thw FGS mod done (FirstGearStart)....remember, the 1st gear was to pull a trailer up a mountain thing.....and mine also wont do a 1-2 shift with the lever in '2', I can hold 1st a bit longer by throttle position, but it does take a pretty good romp.....as far as the 2-3 & 3-4 shift, there is a lot to do with the linkage assy, the modulator adjustment, ect......but I'm not an expert, just repeating what I've seen on other threads......
