De-Badging problem

I took off the 2.6 badge on the right hand side of my trunk about an hour ago, and after cleaning all the adhesive off I noticed some brown discoloration in some areas where the number once were. Is this beginning stages of rust or can it be fixed? ANY advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Try car wax or even (carefully) rubbing compound.

dunno what ICE wax is...but just use some paint cleaner. Hard to say without seeing it though. Doubt its rust if its not on the sheet metal and just on paint.

I used "Goof Off" and rubbing alcohol. It took some work but finally got all of it off. I just rubbed one little section at a time.
