is there a tranny swap for the 4E
Im researching a new transmission for my 4E and I was wondering, has anybody found a good 5 or 6 speed tranny that works with the 4E or am I just stuck with an Auto?

Short answer....you're stuck with the automatic. I have only ever heard of one manual w124 m119, it was in a renntech modified 500e. If you don't have some serious cash to burn, don't bother. Nothing just bolts up, so everything would need to be custom made.

Sauber raced with the M119 in (88?) otherwise that Renntech is the only other manual I've heard of.
There are various indy projects but nothing nearing completion that I know of.

Hi!
I wrote to Renntech long ago and they told me that the tranny came from a 6 speed 8 series BMW. I think the 6 speed is a Getrag because I did some research on who makes 6 speed trannies for the BMWs. Hope this would help!
