Fault code reader issue

When looking at the fault code reader instructions on this forum, i see it says insert black into pin 1, red into 16, and the other into whatever you want to check.

My problem: My 16 pin is empty!

Any ideas? I have contacts in #'s: 1,3,6,7,8,14.

Thanks,
Michael

relief

Here is an amazing link for fault code reader information for Mercedes. Many of us just have home made readers, but the information for the pins, and codes is still relevant.

happened to click on the right link after a search on google. For those who will use that link, use your chassis code to determine which code set to use.
