I've never liked black wheels. It always looks like a cheap American car that's missing all the hubcaps, to me.

Range Rover Classic
I've seen some Land Rovers with gun metal wheels... looked pretty sharp. Otherwise not my favorite look. It is classic AMG though.

As for the wheel size... you would need to roll the fender, add fender spacers, add a washer to limit strut compression, rework in the inside of the fender well, flare the front fender. You would also need to enlarge the rear fender wells from the inside. Thats taken from the AMG 17x8.5 install guide.

if it would make me all that trouble, i might opt for the 19"!!!
that would look
spacers ok... but rolling fenders and flared wings is S.F. to me now, so i'll stay away

i have 18x8, 35 offset. i rolled the fenders, but i did it myself so they're not really rolled that much! looking at the car, i don't think they would have rubbed that much if at all. i'm lowered on vogtlands. i know frederic0w134 had/has 18x8.5 mandrus wheels on his car with slammed suspension, but i know he rolled fenders plus did some /all of the stuff eliot said.
the offset on these wheels you're looking at is good, i just can't say if the width will work. with the 225 tires i was thinking they would, but there are definitely more experienced wheel guys on here! i would look at getting the fender spacers though, very easy to install and stops the wheel rubbing where the fender meets the sideskirts.
this is what mine came out like (ineed to take more/beter pics, i keep re-cycling the same ones...!)

18x8, ET35 on 225/40/R18's on my car, no rubbing. Lowered on H&R springs with bilstein sport shocks. My fenders are in fact rolled, but I'm not positive this was necessary. I just did it as a precaution.

So as Zedstyle said, the issue with the rims you're looking at is the width. The only difference between that setup and mine is the extra .5". It would be extremely close to rubbing on your fender lip as well as your struts in the front. It could definitely be done, but you may need mods to get it to work. It's too close to tell, and I've never tried this setup.

If you don't want to risk it, just get the 18x8's, ET35 with 225/40/R18's. It's tried and true.

the tihng is i can't seem to find any good looking 17's or 18x8 with 5x112 bolt pattern... and i'm tired of the amg look... it's on now...

sportline suspension (bilstein H&R next), 93 hood, remade interior in Blk/grey, new blk paint job (in the shop right now)

4 piston calipers, sloted 332/32 rotors...
work in progress ... missing the rimms!

Is that your CE? Hammer wheels FTW!

Also, how much did the Stoptech BBK set you back?

Upgrading my brakes is something I plan on doing when the wheels come in.

still wayting on there quote, as it will be a larger order...
front 4 piston rear 2piston, both sloted rotors, lines, pads and everything...
and i'm not in a hurry eyther... still got to figuer out: do i have to flare and roll?
becuase i'm planing on sending it to the shop for stripping (don't look, he'll be naked as can be ) and i would like the widest look i can get! it's lower than enough anyway, so let's get wide! the rimms are only a call away...

those hammers are some replica's... they don't look all that good
