Front speaker install

I tell you what, i guess im just full of questions, but neways.

I just ordered two tweeters to replace my two dash speakers. The tweeters have an O.D. of about 2 inches. What do you all recommend using to mount the tweeters with. I would like to mount them where the dash speakers were. (below the grill in the dash, so it looks factory.)

So my question is pretty much, should i just mount them using a plywood plate....or something metal...I even heard somewhere to use cardboard(that wouldnt seem so great to me, bud then again i dont know.)

Please, any suggestions would be great.

plywood is probably easy, or you could get a metal bracket in there. i used thick cardboard in the exact shape so it can't move. works fine for me, plus it only took 5 minutes.

i used some off a box, like a shipping box (the corrugated type, not the card type). i put them in about a year or so ago, and they're perfect.
the method doesn't sound sophisticated, but the tweeters are so light and the card fits exactly in the space, so they don't budge. you can even use double-sided tape to keep the cardboard down, but i didn't use any....
try it out, see if you think it will work for you... if not, then maybe someone will help you with advice on wood or metal brackets
