Damn it Chris, you really gotta keep that stuff to yourself!!!

You're giving me buyer's remorse here! Although I've had my H&R's for a few years and I like them fine... but I haven't compared them to anything else.

Update:

I just installed the springs and shocks today.

The springs made for the V8 are absolutely awesome!

Perfect drop especially since I'm running bump 1 in the front and 2 in the rear and I'm not rubbing at all.

I'll post some pictures tomorrow night when I get back from LA.

The only downside to the whole project today was that I found out my driver side rear sway bar link broke so I need to replace it.

Vogtland V8 and I6 springs

The photo of the new V8 Vogtland springs on the 95 420 looks very tight. What spring pad/shim did you use?

I'm looking for a set of the Vogtland springs for my current driver, an 87 300E. I put an email into Pure in Temecula to see what they quote me for a set.

I was wondering, anyone here get Vogtlands from the actual Vogtland people in Temecula? Is that more of a warehouse for standard stuff and nascar stuff only? Or do they carry the I6 spring set for my early W124? I'll call them tomorrow and find out either way.

Thanks very much,
Jason

Hey Chris, what offset do your front wheels have? Do you have clearance problem with the fenders or do you play around with the camber and caster setting to solve this?

Juz a (perhaps a bit stupid) question regarding lowering: Do you guys have the bump stops removed or shortened while lowering? I got my set of Vogtland (952025) installed and the struts at all 4 corners just sit on the bumps stops.

My front spring pads are of 1 notch and ther rears are 2-notch as original setting.

Attached the pic of it after initial lowering. After I cut 1 "notch" off the front bump-stops the front drops further 10mm, which resulted in the front tyres touching with the fenders when making a turn going up ramps. My wheels are of 7.5 inch width with +41 offset on 205-50-17 tyres so I suppose they are not the cause. The top of front struts (Bilstein V36-0361) are now barely touching the 1-notch-off bump stops.

I probably will restore the front ride height to how it was in the photo with thicker pads but I also want a bit more usable sus travel. Anyone know if the front strut mounts for R129 and 4-matic (part# 124-320-0473) would do this? (Sorry I had post this in a new thread also) Do these mounts raise the upper mounting point?

Sorry for the extremely long wait/lag of shipping out and collecting payments from those who were interested in the Vogtland V8 Springs.

I have four left now and these are available for anyone out there with a 400E, E420, 500E/E500.

Also, this will be on a first come first serve basis so act fast.

Thanks.
