not to get off topic, but my car runs best on shell gas. Theres a reason its the most expensive and people are still buyign it. And there whoel campaign abotu how it cleanrs your motor is true. It woudl eb unlawful for them to falsly advertise...

also I assume you put in 93 octane. By law they are allowed +/- 2 octane so it coudl eb the gas station actually selling you 91, and you/your car might nto be use to the lower octane. Try a differen texxon station, and if not write an angry letter to head office of mobile.

My car runs best on chevron premium . . .

I have tried running it on everything from mobile to shell and even arco once because it was the only gas station around but chevron gives me the most power, burns the slowest and keeps my engine the smoothest out of all of them and the guy who services my car said chevron is the only gas who's additive actually does what it says

Chevron is the most expensive where i live but to me it is worth every penny

Use Exxon 93 octane which in my area is 10% ethanol.

Use it in all my cars, C6 Corvette, and three MB's : G55, C43, 300CE.
No problems at all.

"Scientific" reason for choosing Exxon is because price is best in the area and the station is closest to my home

maybe your car is still angry about the spill in Valdez Alaska I still try not to buy their gas, they got out of that spill with very few penalties, it's a real shame and I am no tree hugger
