This weekends work

Well spent this weekend working on the car I fixed some stuff and did a few modifications. Had to take a few trips to pull-a-part, and Home Depot.

First painted my grill insert. I used a high heat black spray paint. $4.99

Before:

After:

Replaced the rear passenger window regulator. Pulled the regulator for $5.95.

Replaced the wiring for the front window regulator. I had rig it earlier because I didn't have time to properly fix it before. I had run a wire all the way from the driver side to the passenger side. So the one window switch put both windows down. That tape around the wire bundle it very annoying. I had to wash my hands every 2 or 3 mins because it was so sticky.

Burnt Wire - Must have shorted out and melted the whole plastic coating

New wire before I ran it trough the door and carpet. Free

I ran my iPod cable to the glove box. This way I can just leave the 40gb in the car and it won't be seen. I like a very neat and orderly car. I don't like wire showing for stuff. I also decided to make a new cigar lighter in the glove box. This way I can charge my cell phone and don't have to have the ash tray open which I find ugly. This is only the prototype I have another glove box that I will be fabrication today for install.

I am waiting for my in car bluetooth to arrive for install.

Glove Box

Now all that is left is spray paint all the plastic parts, clean doors and seats, reinstall everything, fix aux fan (post coming soon), replace seat belt, charge AC.

Nice. Sounds like a productive weekend.

I would recommend painting the hood latch mechanism that sits in the grille as well.

What happened to your bumper on the driver's side?

Yes I am going to paint it I realized one could see it when I put it back together.

A jackass hit me in the parking lot one day, then tried to drive off. So I chased him at high speeds down Lenox in front of Lenox Square (If you know ATL). So finally chased him down and got the police. His insurance paid for the bumper. I didn't replace it. I am waiting to find the 1990+ updated bumpers and body panels. Which I need to find shortly before a new spray.

No not at all. I flagged down a cop on foot who pulled the guy over. Then he callled in some other cops. Well the cop on foot didn't explain what happened correctly. So when they wrote the ticket they thought it happend in the parking lot we were in. When I told them what happened they had already written the ticket and was to lazy to redo it. So he basically got away with a hit and run. I even had witnesses fro the accident scene come a tell what happened to the cops they were to lazy to rewrite the ticket.
