Smile 1991 300e 24v sedan

Hi all,
Just about to buy my first benz with 130,000 klms on the clock. What are the main things to look for that cost big buck to fix. I know the ignition module is one and so warped head gaskets. What other problems should I look for ? It also claims to have Sportline suspension although there is no logo on the front guard.
Thanks, MJ

Does it has the Dia. 380mm leather sportline non-airbagged steering wheel? All HK-bound sportline has leather interior but may not have the rear individual seating (Optional). The shape of the front seats are deeper than the standard ones, with perforated leather pieces attached on the side-bolsters both on the seat-back and the seat. Go take a look at the tyre-pressure label on the underside of fuel flap. If the tyre size indicated on the label starts from size 205-60ZR15, it is very likely to be a Sportline. Check out the spare-wheel, too. If original has not been replaced, it should be the 15-hole 7x15ET41 alloy and not the 6-1/2x15ET48. The quicker steering gear ratio is not easily noticed if you don't have a non-Sportline for comparison. Shocks and coil springs could have been replaced and you need a gauge to check for thicker anti-roll bars.

Both the ignition module and the gasket are the main defects of the M104.980 engine. Also the outlet "neck" of the radiator cracks easier han others. My original ignition module was replaced at around 70,000km, radiator at around 110,000km and gasket at around 140,000km. Otherwise it is as good as other W124s. Pay attention to the one you are looking into and good luck.
