the rear door vacume engine

hi all
i think i have posted this the other day but i cann't find it any where in the site.
any way
my dad's w124 wagon's rear door vacume engine wont work when closing
but when it is half the way opened and i close the caliper with my finger it runs and acts like closing it.
what could be the problem?

any help?

no no
it has a small motor and a gears in it.not air vacum.i don't know what it is called.
that model cars rear door closes it self when just just reaches the locking distance.

Sorry, you said vacuum engine. You mean the liftgate latch motor, right? I know what you're talikng about now. Try the Search, Advanced utility. It's very helpful.

iam talking about the tail gate closure mechanisim.
it closes the tail door gently and you don't have to slam it.
