Finally TT Install Pix !!!!!!

FedEx Passport brought the car back this morning from Chicago.

Did a bit of driving and no regrets with the TurboTechnics install or the choice of suspension.

Will post full impressions after I get some "real" miles on it this weekend

Looks great, must accelerate too.

Did you do anything to keep the engine bay temps down?

I'm going to install a cool harness which will turn the electric fans on at 92 degree C instead of 105. Fans will come on earlier, but more importantly stay on hopefully longer after shutdown.

Drove a bit yesterday in heavy traffic, ambient temp around 88 F, temp indicator stayed around 85 C.

I was considering installing some venting in the hood, looking at one section of the old 280ZX setup, not the part with the NACA intake.
If I use it, will mount directly above the turbos.

Still have the Euro lights to install and the Wald replica front spoiler...

a lot of the E500E guys have done cooling mesh in the trim pieced under the headlights, that might be worth looking into for you:

THANKS

Good idea as I prefer a stock looking hood.

This will bring air flow in line with the exhaust manifolds.

I have the blanks for under the Euro lights, so I may modify the existing filler plate with the wiper hole.

Thanks again...that's what I like about forums, always ideas that can benefit one !!!

i thought those were to bring a little extra air to the intake, and not for actual airflow to the engine? they lead into the airboxes behind the headlights, right??

On the M119, yeah, but on the M103, the passenger side just pours into the engine bay, in his case, right at the turbo...

You could even get the Diesel fenders, which have the vents on your Turbo's side, so thats another mod you could do without spoiling your hood !!

i would recommend painting the top of your block red with some high-temp engine paint and i would say it was complete. It looks amazing though. I love the intake and the clean install, especially how the turbos sit.

Rims aren't chrome and the "color code" is as I purchased it new in May of 1988.
Only 200 produced worldwide in the signal red/palomino combination.

Dyno chart was posted a few weeks ago.

Baseline 135.9HP@ 5500RPM / 177HP published
Baseline 145.3LBFT @ 4500RPM / 188LBFT published
Approx 30% loss from dyno rwp to published crank.

Pulls made on a Mustang load type dyno which will read approx 18% lower then an inertia type like a DynoJet

TwinTurbo
195.6HP @ 5500RPM
220.4LBFT @ 4250RPM

Factor back in the observed drive train loss
195.6 x 1.3 = 254.28HP
220.4 x 1.3 = 286.52LBFT

TwinTurbo install increased power by 50%.

Convert to figures that a more common inertia dyno would indicate

195.6 x 1.18 x 1.3 = 300.05HP
220.4 x 1.18 x 1.3 = 338.09LBFT

TurboTechnics published around 310HP/LBFT when the kits were introduced in the early nineties.

Not bad for a 3 liter 12 valve engine.....100HP/liter.
The torque is what you really feel.

Initial driving impressions are that it is comparable to my C43.....

P.S.

How do you like your C6? Lot of bang for the buck...My 1LT A6 coupe was only $42K, a whole lot cheaoer and more fun then a SL55

On the V8's they do....on a M103 as mine they would just provide air flow into the engine compartment.

Verrry cool nice power! I luv your M3 story

Yeah the C6 is boat loads of fun, w/minor CAI, cat-back, & torque management removal I'm at 360rwhp 358rwto on dynojet w/sae smoothing. This was dynoed in 90+ degree heat

My goal presently is a 400rwhp w/bolt-ons and full dyno tune, very easily achievable from other C6 dynos I've read...

My dyno also run in 90 degree heat and high humidity in Chicago.
My turbo car will produce more power on the road as the intercooler will come into effect.
On a dyno even with fans my intercooler location is still for the most part in a static air stream.

I run the GHL catback, and a SLP filter assembly with a Halltech style air intake in the lower shroud.
Go over to the C6 general section in Corvette Forum ( www.corvetteforum.com ).
Lot of good people, I do a lot of pictorial DIY's, mostly on interior and body mods !!
Great tech section also, you'll find out who the "hot" tuners are in your location or even the top mail order tuners !!

I went "retro" when I did my FRC's....interior also redone in a tuck and roll..C6 reminds me of my old C3 Stingray...
