It lowers the point that the aux fan comes on from 105 to 92 degree C.
Even in recent 90 degree temp and high humidity, I run around 85-87 degree C so the aux fan rarely comes on.
I bought it more as "insurance" to keep the engine cool in an unusual event

You might want to check out your cooling system, clean and flush it, new lower temp thermostat, fresh antifreeze and maybe some water wetter

To any W124/C124 owner who runs above 100+ degree c in hot weather, you probably need more then a device to lower the aux fan start temp.
I've owned my 300CE since purchased new in May of 1988.
Cooling system always maintained and antifreeze changed every two years.
System was flushed a few times over nineteen years.
It has never, even under extreme conditions run above 90-95 degree C, and that is a rare occurence.
Suggest with the engine cool you look for any rust or brown discoloration in your coolant.
Best to go to a radiator shop and have them power flush your system, including heater core, until water runs clear.
Install a new thermostat, pressure cap and if required new hoses.
Fill with a good quality antifreeze and water mix and add some "water wetter"
This is an inexpensive investment that will keep your engine running cooler and allow more durability.
Heat kills engines and transmissions....
The professional flush and clean and refill will solve most overheating problems in older high mileage vehicles
