Enzo, my Benzo
Chappy,
I tinted my 94-95 tails that weren't dark enough for my taste and they turned out FANTASTIC and exactly how I wanted. Get the ones Zedstyle posted, get VHT nitshades and a good clear coat, That way you can darken the clear and tone down the red.
Here's what mine look like..they hold up well!

I may end up going that route (DIY), but as mentioned earlier there are some subtle differences in the manufactured smoked tails and factory tails that are sprayed.
Just for grins, I called my dealer to inquire about a new set of tails (always good to start with a clean sheet of paper rather than with 12 year old plastic parts). It seems the t-model tails are no longer sold as a complete unit, but rather are now sold as right/left lenses and right/left bulb unit. The whole kit (4 pieces) was priced at over $600 retail...for STOCK tails!
New lenses were $400 alone....Holy schneikes!
I've put out several more feelers for the manufactured smoked tails since it will actually be less expensive to source and purchase than having to buy new lenses and smoke them.
Thanks for the ebay link, but I'd rather stay stock vs. those...no offense to anyone. My guess is that I'll locate the red/smoke/red units or end up buying some new tails and having them smoked professionally as I did on my CLK55.
I'm headed to the airport in a few more hours....

Touchdown! Car passed emmissions this afternoon. I ended up staying in JAX overnight, so on the way home I hit the testing station....passed with flying colors.
More coming soon....

For those interested, I located a source for the MHW designs smoked tail lights for the W124 wagon. The item number is MHW 023067 and can be ordered from their U.S. distributor, Ritec International, located in the Thousand Oaks, CA area. I've ordered a set and the price is $379.90 plus shipping/handling (plus tax if you're in CA). They have to be ordered, so the wait time will be 4-6 weeks.
I dealt with the owner, Karl. If you need any info, you can contact him at ritec@earthlink.net
FWIW, "Import Vision" claimed to have a shipment of this item coming late last week (3 sets, 2 pre-sold) is what I was told. I called to see if the lights had come in, but they hadn't arrived....they wanted me to check back in 2-3 weeks. Despite being more expensive, I opted to deal directly with the distributor for the manufacturer.

You going with the s600 grille? I am considering it since my stocker is starting to get chalky.
