Did you use a double din mounting frame, and the plastic frame, for witch car did you get that?

I am in the process of doing the same mod, and i am looking into doing with and without the mounting frame.

No the double din cage doesnt fit. The deck's put in with strapping and screwed into the sides of the center console.
And neither does the plastic frame.
I machined one up on my CNC out of Staron (same as Corian). It took a few attempts before I got it the way I wanted.

Right, now I dont have a CNC machine available. So I must see if I can come up with another solution. Maybe a wooden frame, and see if I can get a hold of an old dash from another mercedes, and cut this to specifications. Hmm well, I have been sucessful in installing my 2-din unit, even though there was not allot of room behind the unit for it to fit.
