What year, engine and type of injection?

Might as well replace the fuel pump relay which can give the symptoms you are seeing.

The OVP and fuel pump relay in the M103 with KE-Jetronic III are the "brains" of the engine.

If they don't react to the speed signal from the yellow/green wire they will shut the fuel pumps down

whats the difference between the fuel pump relay and the "MAS" not the mass airflow sensor but the MAS unit located near the battery

Not sure of your engine...I'm addressing the M103-12V.

When you turn the key your fuel pumps will start.....they will only keep on running after the engine starts if the relay sees a speed signal.
No speed signal and they shut down and so does the engine.

You should see a black/red/white wire from pin 87 on the fuel pump relay which goes to the fuel pumps.

Turn the ignition on and you should measure a voltage to ground from this point.
Start the car and watch if the voltage drops off prior to stall....if it does it usually is the relay.

Start with the simple inexpensive stuff and work back to the EZL unit on the M103

First, click on "Quick Links > User Profile" and fill in the info so we can all see what you drive. Also, feel free to use a PC instead of your I-phone. PC's aren't old-fashioned yet. [I read that teenagers think E-mail is old-fashioned. Damn, I feel old! ]

I've seen this issue somewhere on this forum before. Anyone recall what the problem was?

Have you tried disconnecting the temp sensors to rule those out?

I can't find it anywhere in the service manual. It should be sticking out of the block towards the top by (or in) the t-stat housing.

On second thought, it could be the ignition coil giving out when it gets hot. Have you tested for spark when it gets to the point where it doesn't start?
