Idle Control Valve HOSES
Anybody know of an online source to get the 2 rubber hoses that connect to the idle control valve? I've looked everywhere I can think of and can't seem to find them. I think that the nearest MB dealer is 70 miles away.
THANKS,
Don

Sorry, I'm not sure where you would find them other than from the dealer. Would it be worth it to ask the dealer if they would ship the part to you directly and bill you over the phone?
While we're on the subject, I have a question for you- do your hoses have hose clamps on them where they connect to the ICV? Mine don't and seem to pull off fairly easily... so it makes me wonder if it might be causing a vacuum leak (which could explain my rough idle). Much thanks!

They don't come with clamps. I removed the ICV to clean it out and noticed that one of the hoses was split. Actually, they both look pretty rotten. It seems like a reasonable assumption that air intrusion could easily occur.

uh oh. What year and model is your car? If it's a '93-95, it could be your wiring harness. Those random electrical issues are often caused by this. I'm sure somebody else could jump in, since my car doesn't have that problem.

I went by our local indy shop today and ordered the hoses. The nice lady called her husband with my info, wrote down $12 and change, told me it would be $15 plus freight. I'm a little scared about that "freight" charge though. Anyway, I'm happy to pay a reasonable amount. The name of the shop is "Swedish Werke" and they have a very good reputation.
