Appears that I will soon call California part time home and Washington full time home,basically a reversal of my current..Is there a underhood inspection?,Initially I did not care but the Insurance/Registration offset is significant so I would register my Euro E220 Turbo Cabriolet in Washington,Currently I have a BAR sticker(grey market import) and fall into a technical loophole which makes my car street legal even with the homemade Turbo kit.
In the coming months i will have to sit in a Seattle classroom to get my Washington State Inspectors License so I will find out then but I intend to Drive the Turbo up and leave in my garage as it is the least driven of my cars at the moment....

I have an offer of $1500.00 for my California Personal plates,PM me if interested before I turn it over for auction on the black market...

no, they only test your tailpipe emissions and your gas cap. They've never popped my hood in King County (greater seattle area).

Standard emissions that is true, but licensing a vehicle from out of state, is different, at least a few years back, I had to take my 500e to a State Patrol inspection station, they did open the hood and check the VIN.

ah yes, that's definitely not something I've ever had to do, but I've lived in King County pretty much my entire life.

If they ask, just say it's an extra catalytic converter, good for the global warming.

why would there be a problem with having an aftermarket turbo? It's not like they're illegal.

In california for example everything aftermarket is illegal in respect to engine modifications if you are not using a BAR approved part or kit,my car has all the proper emission components but the turbo kit was made in my shop...But I just found out where I live in Washington there is for now no emission inspection required....Could be wrong but that was what the Washington Dept of Ecology told me when they called me back...I still can't believe they called me back and in the same day I left the message....

Most my travels are in King County but I live out in the skirts...thank god
