91, 300E.. Performance ??
Nice forum you've got.
I'm going to buy a 300E or 230E from 1991 in a few days and i wounder if it's a "slow" car... I had a 190E 2.3-16v before..
How fast 0-60mph ?
0-402m ?
Topspeed ?
But quicker does not mean it will be a drag king.
It is a high speed cruiser, very stable, very easy to drive and very safe.
Good luck

The 230E is a inline four cylinder with about 135 hp. It is not quite as responsive as the 190E 2.3 16V. The W124 230E is a 2V per cylinder the 2.3 16V has 4 V per cylinder, which makes it more "sporty".
Considering theat the W124 is a bid heavier than the 190E, the 300E would be the better choice concerning performance.
It is still a pretty peppy car and will beat most other cars in a 0-60 from that time. I have left a 92 mitsubishi and a 00 stock integra (that one could have been a screwed up driver) in the dust.
The car is quick, but is designed for comfort. I am pretty hard on my 299,008mile 89 300E, I often red line it, but it handles the pressure extremely well.
Go with the 300E if you are looking for performance.
