Newbie Here, needs some help?? Weird problem
Hi all, I wanted to introduce myself and say I am glad to have found this forum. I Have a beautiful 1994 E420 that I just love and I just bought it 3 days ago. All I can say is WOW, what an awesome car! It is in mint shape all the way around and I want to keep it that way. I have one issue and I was hoping someone here could help me with. I want to learn as much about the car, as it is my second MB but different model.
I have noticed that if you close the trunk to hard, all the doors will lock. Driving yesterday, I hit a large bump across the road and the doors locked while I was driving, then about 5 min later, the horn started beeping which was the alarm. I pulled over to the side of the road and got out and inserted my key in the door and it stopped. Just freaky that this happened. Testing it out, I closed the passenger door pretty hard and the doors locked themselves. It has keyless entry and it works fine, unlocking and locking. I am stumped on this one.
Any help or idea on what this could be? Vacuum Pump or electrical wires shorting? Car will unlock and lock fine. Loose wires maybe? What could I check myself?
