You can get alot out of a little if you apply it the right way. The Supertouring is sweet but for those of us who don't quite have that kinda bank you can get a really nice set up for less. As far as road cars go you can build a nice little Miata (i know....Asian, but still rear wheel drive) for under 10K car included. It is a really easy project car and when finished with a Supercharger and set up as a road car will hang with a good deal of Porshe, SL and M3's. Doesn't take huge money to have a toy. There are a lot of cars out theree like that including some BMW 3 and 5's, MB 190's or VW golfs.

offcourse you can buy a Miata (I ride in one now) but they are not anything like thisproject... a frind of mine have one Miata whith a turbo... and it´s still not any fun... I don´t say that you have to it like this... bu you will need a little more then a turbocharged Miata...

Understand I am not trying to compare this project to building a miata (that would be very stupid on my part). On the budget I can afford the Miata, BMW e36 or Subbie WRX is more up my alley. If you build it right, they can be a blast but an E500 supercar they will never be. Just simply stating that projects come in all sizes brands and price ranges. I think everyone who has looked at your ride would have to admit it is a whole other level. The supercharger rather than the turbo gives a bit more bottom end pickup on those little bugger coming out of tight corners and with the correct beefing up of the frame, brakes, suspension, gearing and engine work to get you around 225 -250 hp, The car can keep with a m class or most of your normal run Porches.

lots of cars
You can have 1000hp for 15k but that's not the point. This car is pure precision and it doesn't matter what it cost, it's a w124!! .. I solute you for using this chassis to make a supercar out of it...

I dont see much sense in paying all that money to craft the lightest possibly panels, then weighing them down with 2-3 quarts of paint. Especially if he's going for the record. Not to mention how beaaaauutiful CF is.

Just my opinion.

Wow! Who are you planning to have drive the car for the record laps? Or do you have a lot of laps at the 'Ring so you can drive yourself? That would be too cool to have a 124.036 with the record!

BTW, click here for some Nurburgring videos... especially check out the M3-GTR video, it's awesome in-car footage of an 8-minute lap.
