swaying in turns?

Ok i love my benz to death but this thing says pretty bad. Like i know its not a sports car but i should be able to push her a little bit with out feeling like i'm going to tip. What can i do to better take a turn. its a 300e so they don;t make upgraded suspension or shocks for it. (why? who nows)

Suspension is one thing that's still available...
If your shocks and springs still have life in them, then install a sway bar upgrade.
The sportline swaybars will flatten the cornering out and minimize body roll

LOL, yea try driving a 126, now thiers some body roll.

along with what has already been said - lowering the car will have a pretty dramatic effect on how the suspension works to control body roll.

you have the v8 though, for his I6 he needs the sportline front that doesnt have the kink in it to fit the oilpan of the v8.

You don't need to have an V8 to use the 500E bars. I've driven 300E's with 500 front and rears and it handles superb. It makes me wish I still my 300E so I can enjoy it in my own.

Why do sportline upgrade to something bigger when its available.

Technically "bigger" is not always better when it comes to anti sway bars.

Too large of a bar can begin a bias toward oversteer which is a condition that you really don't want in the W124 chassis !!

The Sportline was engineered specifically for the M103/M104 as a performance handling upgrade.
I would believe that Merc took into account the engine/chassis dynamic.

Keep in mind the 500E generates a great deal more torque then the I6 which is the reason for stiffer bars in the rear

Wagon Goodies! What Wagon Goodies?

Yeah I took a slide under the back of mine to be introduced to hydraulic wonderland. If the rear "shocks" ever go south, we're lookin' at $480 ea. to replace...ouch. And then there's the leveling system that an evil German scientist designed!

I thought someone out there may have disabled leveling and installed conventional shocks. Never actually read where it has been performed. E320 sedans came both ways - not wagons.

I hope mine stays alive, so far no problems and the leveling still works.

upgrade tires and wheels.

theres not much you can do springwise for a 4matic. in fact id go so far as to say theres nothing you can do.

so other than the bar, increasing air pressure (increases tire wear as well) id say your best option is to go with a stiffer sidewall tire.
