E32 Amg?

Hey Y'all-

I don't fancy myself and expert in all things MB, but I've had a few and the spouse calls me a gearhead, but I saw something today that just didn't seem right.

I'm driving my E500 to work and look to my right and there's a W124 and the trunk badging shows E32 on the left and AMG on the right. Monoblock wheels.

As I pass I look at the front end and it's either a '94 or '95 because of the grill/hood and single unit lights. I had a '94 E420, so know this segment of the W124 series.

I get a little further and get a full gander at the grill and it's horizontal slats and the big circle with the three pointed star in the middle. BTW it looked like crap.

I think this is 1) bogus and 2) a stupid exercise if 1 is true. If MB did produce an E32, what do y'all know about it.

Thanks!

If it is a face lift W124, then it would be an E36.
Pre face lift AMG would be a AMG 320 CE/E .

Only AMG "32" was the C32....

Sounds like it's "emblemed" up ?

I don't believe AMG installed superchargers on any of the pre face lift M103/M104's.

The AMG 320 was a modded 3.0, the AMG E36 was a modded 3.2.

that's how it was badged, but that's not the car... the one i saw had the cladding painted white to match the car, but it looked like it was done with a paintbrush!

Not all 3.6l AMG motors were based off the 3.2l. The C36 is actually based off the 2.8l with a 350sdl crank to increase displacement to around 3.6l
