low shifting point..

ok, this is the first problem to address with my 300e..it seems to shift from first to 2nd really early...mabey 3500rpms..not even 20mph..and continues to do it through all the gears...how do i fix/adjust this? the fluids and filter are less than 5000 miles old...and levels are perfect..

i tried searching and didnt find much.

Out, which is counter-clockwise to increase the shift RPM. Move it about a half turn at a time until you get it close, then tweak it one flat at a time. Test drive after every adjustment. I had to move mine a good 2 turns before it made any difference, but then it became very sensitive. Be aware that the shift point will be higher until the engine warms up, so do it when it's already hot.

Also, be aware of the kickdown switch under the accelerator. It took me a couple of months to realize it. If you push the pedal down past the stop, it activates the switch. If you do this at about 25 mph, all hell breaks loose and it's kind of exciting. This switch seems to ignore the bowden cable setting and let the engine shift at redline. You have to step on it pretty hard to activate it. It feels like something might break.
