1995 E320 Starts and then dies.
I got my 1995 E320 back from the shop Sunday (I have already taken it back) where they did some A/C work. The car started at the shop fine and I drove home.
This morning, when I went to start the car I encountered the following:
1. Start the car normally. Car starts and runs for about 6-20 seconds and then dies.
2. While running, car can move forward or reverse in gear until it dies.
3. Engine can be revved during running period, but the car still dies.
4. A "whirring" noise can be heard after the engine cuts out. Noise lasts a few seconds.
5. Car will start again, and then die again. I'm assuming it will do this until the battery is dead.
Any ideas? Anything I should tell the mechanic to look for? Could the mechanic have damaged something while doing the A/C fix and rechage work?
Thanks.

Update: Mechanic says I need a new fuel pump
The mechanic performed a pressure and flow test on the fuel pumps and one of them failed. He said that it would be safer to switch both since they are original and the labor is the same for one or both.
He also recommended replacing the fuel regulator? (not sure if that is correct) for no additional labor cost since it is also original and only costs around $35.
Car has 170,000 miles on it.
I'm having him do the work.
