Spring Pad Part Numbers

I've searched, and come up with two different sets of numbers. looking at them, one set starts with '201', and one set starts with '210', so i'm guessing that w124 pads are interchangeable with w210 and w201, which is plausible I suppose.
the guy on the phone at the dealership is being difficult and they don't want to order my parts until the see my car, look for the 'color dots' on the springs, and get my VIN. I told him i just need #4 fronts and #1 rears, i ordered them like that last time from another dealer, but when i told him i have lowering springs he didn't want anything to do with it, and told me to 'go to benzworld.org'.
These are the part numbers i have, does anyone know the part numbers that start with '124' so this guy can stop bothering me and order my parts??
Then maybe we can sticky this with the wheel size thread or something, because the search was frustrating!

FRONT
210 321 01 84 - #1
210 321 02 84 - #2
210 321 03 84 - #3
210 321 04 84 - #4
210 321 05 84 - #5

REAR
210 325 01 84 - #1
210 325 02 84 - #2
210 325 03 84 - #3
210 325 04 84 - #4

--------------------------

FRONT
201 321 09 84 - #1
201 321 10 84 - #2
201 321 11 84 - #3
201 321 12 84 - #4

REAR
201 325 09 44 - #1
201 325 10 44 - #2
201 325 11 44 - #3

from what else i can find, the '201' numbers are probably the ones, though i think all will probably fit...

edit: found this online somewhere:

"The different between W201 and W210 part number is because of the different shape of the spring.

The W201 spring pad has flat surface where W210 spring pad as a grove where the spring will sit."

so i guess i need to look at my lowering springs to determine if the top coil is flattened or rounded, and go from there... standard w124 part is the '201' type.

If you are going to lower the car, it doesn't matter which pads you get as long as they are for your serial #. If you are trying for stock, you need to know the color of the stripes on your springs. Applying this info to a chart that lists all the equipment in your car like, A/C, two way radio, etc produces a part # for a pad with the proper # of burrows. MB springs are tested after MFG and painted with stripes to indicate stiffness. Not all the springs in the same batch are the same and require pads of different heights. The same goes for blocks. After boring, the cyl holes are measured and stamped 0 or 1 or 2 depending on tollerance. Then the guy with the pistons looks at the # and drops the right size piston in the hole. At least that's the way it used to work BCE ( before Chrysler era).

The only spring pads with a 124 number are for the 4-matics fronts. Same 5 mm increments tho.

The ones with a 201 number fit the other 124, 201, 202 and 129 models.

126 and 140 chassis have their own pads specific to them also. Hope this helps.

Here are the front 4-matic pad numbers, they have goofy springs if you've seen them.

8mm 124 321 12 84
13mm xxx xxx 13 84
18mm xxx xxx 14 84
23mm xxx xxx 15 84

I'm at home now and not near my MB computer, so it sounds like he takes 201 pads if he doesn't have 4matic. By the way the reason those springs look so goofy is because the front drive axles have to go through them.

read post #3, it apparently depends on a lot of things. if you look under your car though you can usually see the bumps sticking out of the pad

Def. not off topic...

US market will usually have #4s in front = 201 321 12 84
and #2s in the rear = 201 325 10 44 ...yes, you can usually see the 'nibs' on the part of the rubber that hangs over/down.

Euros I have seen #3 in front and #1 in back for the V8 W124 cars.
