Oder from dash vents
Car is 1992 300TE
Oder occurred suddenly. Hard to describe, wife said she thought something was burning. It made her eyes water.
A/C and heat work fine.
Not sure what it is or what is causing it. Do not think it's coolant or R134a, but what else could it be?

Smells kind of like a box of bandaids? Plasticky? If so, your AC evap has a leak. That's the smell of poly-ester refrigerant oil. That's why I got rid of mine. The evap is $1200+ to repair and requires disassembling the entire dash. I though they didn't start using the poly-ester oil until '93, but maybe yours was a late '92.

I had changed the evaporator last year so that was not the problem.
I figured out the problem is the wiper motor which is burning up because the wiper transmission has losts its timing.
