another headunit question

Is there anything that is plug and play for the headunit or at least looks very stock. I just can't bear a thought of putting in one of these fancy Alpine's with a lot of bright shiny flashing lights to mess up the classic look of my old school dash. Plus I actually like the stock bose speakers...more than adequate for my non audiophile ears.

Has anyone updated the MB headunit with another newer MB headunit Becker/Blaupunkt?

I would like to know as well,I don't feel like messing with the stock amp either.I've been through the whole 'audio/modding' phase with my VW's and in alot of cases it would have been better to leave the stock system alone.

Those Rainbow replacement speakers seem like a good Idea though.

2013 E350 wagon cuprite brown; sold:2014 ML63; R500 Saks Edition; R500; more W124s than I can count
toss the stock headunit and replace it w/ a becker from virtually any porsche. i used a cdr 220 from ebay and it is all plug and play. install took all of 10 minutes. looks stock but sounds much better and has better features as well....

Or..If you don't want a stock look. There's always an option for an "aftermarket headunit."

I personally find all the aftermarket units to look really chintzy and stupid in the interior of the benz. They just look out of place IMO.

That is the one I'd like first or this one:

I'd much rather have the second one. The first one looks like a stock unit out of a 03 corolla.

This is mine, and it's not cheesy at all for a benz interior.

When I get my new camera I'll show you what it's like...but some people just aren't into screens.

The first one is actually an update to the Becker CD which was a european equipment radio that I currently have in my car. It fits the look of the car perfectly and even comes lit in the same amber yellow that the rest of the interior has for switches and the dash. It works very nicely.

Nah, my dad got it for me to replace the stock tape deck Becker. I think you may be able to order it through the dealership or from the Becker USA page.

This becker USA :P I think it is the 1492 that I have. Becker CD I believe is the common name, the red lit one is the Porsche branded one.
