m102 series compatibility

hi,
new to MB but old enough for classics...

Just got a w124 which cost almost 4 new AMG monobloks..+tyres (yess... back home a 20 year old car devalues so much...)
this car has a 200 carburated (not EFI) + autobox, thus is a real brick.. and had done 150,000km. Coming from forced induction skylines (no more!!)... this is a huge lag.

Question : Does 190E 2.5 16v engine fits into M102 engine bay as i thought from the series numbers M102.9xx are sharing same block..
Missus is also using the car, so an autobox is a must.

thanks for you all feedback to post..

lots of cars
Unless the 2.5 16v is coming from a wrecked 190E EVO I would not take the engine out of that car and put it on a w124. It can be done because I had a 230E which is a 300e with a 4cyl 2.3L engine. You would just have to swap out the fuel injection electronics and that's it. You will have to find a 230e for the engine mounts maybe.
