M104 w202 transmission : works in M103 / w124 ?
My transmission in the 3.0L 300e is dead (broken AT brake band) ; & this thread has me wondering what I can do, with a c280 tranny :
http://www.mercedesshop.com/shopforu...t=93899&page=1
Can I swap out my m103 3.0L transmission (722.358) with the transmission from the m104 (95 c280) ? It's a 722.424 transmission in the c280 and the one I currently have in the 3.0L w124 is a 722.3xx ; so I really don't know if it's possible to do this without an entire motor/transmission swap
I would like to keep the m103 engine ; and it would be great if this works as I have a wrecked in the front '95 c280 in great condition with low miles that I can pull parts off of right now.

you should be able to
the long blocks are the same and i believe the 722.4 was just the 722.3 with the electronic controls that was available in late W124s.
i could be wrong though.

Interesting, thanks for the input... anyone else have some words of wisdom? I would love to hear from some one whom has done this ... I did notice there were some extra electronic goodies on the side of the tranny on the c280 that mine doesn't have on the w124... ? I'm wondering if (they are the same) I could just swap the controls of my old 722.3xx to the 722.4xx and call it a day
That would be killer.

Ok, so does anyone know if I can bolt a w202 c280 722.424 tranny up to a M103 ? and just take the electronic crap off and use the accessories from my 722.358? I need my Benz-0 back in action !!
