who can help.....

Hey,
I have my mind set to do a manual conversion. I've always hated auto trannies. The problem is, I can't find enough info as to which manual tranny to get which would fit my car (I don't want any custom work).

For those of you that don't remember, my car is a slow E220 with M111 engine, MY 1994. In Hong Kong, where the car is located, manual Mercs are absolutely non-existent. This means getting a donor car and do the swap easily side-by-side is not a plausible option.

I would have to source all the parts from London (where I am right now) or Germany (Europe, really) and ship them back. I've got shipping sorted so it's all down to the parts now.

Has anyone got a comprehensive list of parts I need to gather for the conversion? Also does anyone know which tranny I should go for? I've done hours of research on benzworld, 190rev, mercedesshop, and of course, the great mbworld, but I don't seem to get anything constructive out of them. No one really deals with my 4cyl W124

I do, however, know that the W201 pedal assembly and perhaps some of the manual trannies in the W201 would work. Yet again, not sure which one.

Anyone care to point me in the right direction?

Cheers!
Jeff

I think this is too risky. Just get a "new" car and be done with.
