1987 300E Rough running when cold?

I have a 1987 300E which has been very reliable ,
But recently it has started to run rough and stall when cold.
Once it has warmed up it runs great?

Any suggestions on what to look for to fix this problem.

Check the temp sensor and make sure there are no vacuum leaks. Pay close attention to the hoses on the idle air valve. Of course check the usual suspects such as plugs, wires, cap and rotor.

Thanks for that, were would I find the temp sensor? Does this sense
the engine temp and adjust the mixture to hot/warm idle?
