Noises bugging the hell out off me!

there was a sound (sqeeck, like a belt slipping), somewhere near the glove comp... it was going away after 2 minutes off driving. no conection with A/C setting... it has now turned into the most anoyng high pitch buzz, like a fan with blades touching the case... and permanent! what fan could it be? (in the right side dash?) DIY'er, so i'm in for a treet, i bet!
Plus, the blower, or something in the middle (upp, close to the windshield), has somesort of a sliping belt, wich appears at idle,... stoplights are funny now .
Any help would be grate guys!

If you turn off the hvac system completely with the "0" button does it go away? There is a small fan somewhere in that area which draws air through the upper console so the interior temp sensor can get an accurate reading. I think it runs all the time, but I'm not sure.

Neither sound changes or stops... It has me puzzled, because I now it should either stop, or... I was told there are fans in the three points of the dash (left-middle-right), but I haven't yet found a drawing (figuer, scheme or scetch) to help me navigate. I'm a noob DIY'ng my way into serious s__t!
The midle sound (wat I belive comes form the actual blower, or some belt on it) apears to come only in "D", with the brake on... Traffic lights, or other sort off idle bracking... My motor mounts are going, there seems to bee tremble (slight, not like my m102 was way back in the day...), and I think it might have something to do with that...
The right side one, the most anoing , is surelly a fan (the blades are off, touching something, or the electric motor is going out off service...), wich still works, I mean air is coming out, at normal volume and temp, acording to seting, but never shuts up! Not even on 0 on the comand!
Is this clear? I'm really sorry for my bad english, I'm also after a tall glass of wine!
and kind regards,
Dan

The blower is direct-drive with no belts. Are you saying that air continues to flow with the controls off?

I would wait for spring, when the paintjob (wich is in oreder) should get done, when the hole interior will be stripped, but I can't stand it anylonger...

Bad news guys... Long trip next week! Hell, that's going to be diff... I can ignore the buzz, but wen I turn off the engine, my ears are still buzzing for an hour...

The blower didn't bother me today, the sqeeck never came, so I bet it can wait for spring. But the fan was horibble...
I'll tear down the glove comp on monday, but still don't know where to get a similar fan from.... Havent seen one yet, benzez are rare in the yards, and parts are extremely hard to come by. So my next worry is, that I will find a brocken fan, but will not have any other to put back in.
Kind off a mistery to me right now.

This is the only other motor besides the blower that I can think of.

thanx a bunch fellows... the '88 does have the temp sensor, and it also has the little blower in the glove comp., but the noise is gone...
I TRASHED MY CAR TONIGHT!
I picked up a friend at the airport, and on the way back, it was about 11pm, this blonde chick jumped of a sideroad in the middle off the intersection...
Full on brakes, hold tight (I had nowhere to go left or right, left ment still hit, and right ment taxi driver side...) and the first thing that went trough my head was: "Thanck God I've got a benz!"... Frikin Panzer! was going about 60k/h, so imagine...
Everybody OK in my car, so that's good. My front end is flat, I've hit Dacia (the local manufactured car), so almost tore it in two...
Did I mention the snow?
anyway, it's been 3 hours and I'm still in shock! I was expecting an engine in my lap, but then again this ain't no opel or peugeot or honda... I got the car runing, and drove it to my garage! Damn man!

I'll post picks in the morning... He needs a massive estetic intervention! But it's ok. Could have been a lot worse...
Benzez will go thruogh things you can't imagine! Never thoght I would ever say this from a lived experience, but now, I can... Just flatened the front, hood, grille, headlights, corners (they worked, and still do, hangin on the side!), the beutifull AMG gen1 bumper... radiator, evaporator, fans, ducts... that sort... no fenders tho, witch is good...
More tomorow...

I have the same thing on my 300ce. It makes funky noise for about 2 or 3 minutes in the morning, then goes away. It sounds like a fan bearing is going out. I don't want to rip out the dash quite yet.
The sound is there regardless of the settings.
It is from the upper right hand side of the dash.

I used to have a high pitched whine from the right side, but then when I got divorced, it went away.
