Removing the SLS on 95 E320 wagon, pls help

I recently got a 95 E320 wagon. It is in good shape except for the suspension. The ride in the car is very, very bouncy. I figured I needed a new suspension, and at the same time I could lower it a bit. I have searched on the forums about this topic, but I have not really found anything about removing the SLS on a 95 E320 wagon. I did a search on suspension, and gathered some information. With this information I went ahead and bought Eibach springs and Bilstein HD shocks to replace the SLS. Now the person who works on my car, says that this set-up might not work for the wagon. He says the Bilsteins on the rear are too long, and that I need shorter shocks. Is this true? I thought I read it somewhere that this would work. I guess I was wrong. Hopefully someone with experience can chime in and help me out. Thanks

I think that it is not a great idea to remove the SLS since it has a very practical use, but if you must... I know of someone who has developed a kit to remove the system. Contact Kent at www.mercedessources.com

The odds are that your accumulators are bad. These are the nitrogen filled spheres that are the shock absorbers for the rear hydraulic system. these are inexpensive and can be changed in an afternoon. This is a very common issue and has been covered many times in this forum. Take a look for that.

Thanks, looks like I will be replacing the accumulators, and putting the Eibach springs on. Hopefully this will eliminate the bouncy ride from the car. Hopefully this works. I have a 190E 2.3-16v, with SLS which was removed with no problem, but I guess this wagon is quite different.

Well, the reason the wagon would be so different is that you could have higher payloads unlike in the 190. I think that once you change the accumulators that you will find that the ride improves. Make sure to flush the system with MB hydraulic fluid until it is clear.

If you are going to lower it, you will have to adjust the rear control bar that attaches to the sway bar and the control valve. It is a simple adjustment.
Also, make sure that the springs you order are for a TE and not a sedan as they are very different.

Got the accumulators replaced and the ride is great. The bouncy ride is gone.
