new here...

hey guys, im new to the forum. in the next few months i will be in the market for a new car. lookin into a w124 - i love the classic look and they seem to have less problems then the newer models (also will be cheaper). i would prefer the diesel, but im sure the gas version would be acceptable as well. just needs to be safe (for my family and i), reliable and look pretty good.

just wanted to find out what i should look for when buying one of these cars? how many miles is too many? what major things go wrong? are they generally expensive to fix? what should i look to pay for one? are there any good trader sites to look for a benz? etc?

i have a local benz guy that deals with lots of these cars. i have look at a couple in the past. they seem to know what they are doing but they also seem on the expensive side. (i have a link to their website if anyone could comment on some of their cars for me)

thanks. rj

edit: also, how would the 190e (same years) compare?
