Exclamation Headlight Bulb Replacement

How do I change the headlight bulbs on my '90 300E? Need help, asap while there's still some natural light out.

We pulled off the covers, can't figure out how to get the light bulb out of the bracket. I don't want to force anything and possibly break it.

Thanks guys!

Do you have euro lights (all one piece glass) or the factory north american lights (sealed beam and plastic surround around fog light?

If it's euro, take the back cover off and then there is a metal wire bracket that pressure holds the bulb in. Squeeze the wires together and lift off...

NO, I've got the North American ones. I got passed the back cover. But didn't know what to do after that.

After you remove the covers, there is a plastic collar around the base of the bulb holding it to the housing. Rotate it counter-clockwise. It will rotate about a third of a turn, then come loose. Then simply extract the bulb and replace it.

Thanks! The collars are kinda stuck and I didn't want to turn too hard and break anything...

I'll try again in the AM to see if it works. Thanks again!

I had the same problem too before.
What you want to do is drive your car with the headlamps on for 1/2 hour asthis will warm the plastic up. Then you'll be able to turn the plastic ring and pull out the bulb.
