So, I realized today that my cassette player is broken. The radio works fine, but I have quite a few old cassettes Id like to listen to in the car. When I push a tape in it doesnt do anything, it goes in and stays there, but doesnt actually play. Whats wrong?

No idea, but if it turns out you need a new player let me know, my cassette player has been sitting in the garage for the past 6 years, I think it is safe to say it will never be going back in.

What's wrong is you are still listening to Cassettes I had one do that to me and it was a little gear that places the heads against the tape had broken. They are made of plastic and with use they wear out and eventually break. Be better off to just replace it If that is the issue.

I normally listen to my Ipod or the radio, but Ive still got a few cassettes layin around, plus theres a vintage shop down the street that has thousands of records/cassettes, some bands which you wont ever find on CD. How much would a replacement radio be? And, how do I get it out without disabling it and setting off the alarm?
