1991 300E 63K miles in Ice Blue
repairing pas. side power headrest 91 300E

My pas. side power headrest motor works but now movement.
Can someone walk me through how to access the problem and likely repair?

Cable jumped a track or something??

If the motor works than the trouble most likely is with the gear assembly that is controlled by the motor to raise/lower the headrest.

Move the seat forward and raise the seatback all the way. Look under the map pockets to find 2 phillips head screws. Remove these and carefully pry the seatback cover away from the friction track that is attached to the leather/mb tex closest to the door/b pillar.

Once the cover is off you will see how the system functions. If it is the gear assembly you will need MB part # 124 970 02 26
